This requires the usage of substances to be assessed considering potential to eliminate hazards or control through engineered means in preference to administrative means. These means must be appropriately implemented.

All work at height must be managed to the requirements of the Work at Height Regulations 2005.
This requires the all operations to be assessed considering potential to eliminate hazards or control through engineered means in preference to administrative means. These means must be implemented where appropriate. Given working at height involves getting people and things to height, this may also give rise to lifting operations that need to be assessed and managed under the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998.

Fire risks at work must be managed to the requirements of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 amongst others.
This requires both the general robustness of any premises against fire to be assessed in light of the activities that will be undertaken in it. Equally this means that individual high fire risk activities need to be assessed and appropriate management action taken.
